LONGBOARD SURF HIRE BY HOMIE BOARDS
It’s big, it’s often beautiful and it reminds us of the early days of surfing. The longboard has long been the star board for surfers and the first to be really popularised.
Also known as the Malibu, this board lets you glide gently over small summer waves. Be careful though, this is not a board for beginners (you’re better off with a mini-malibu or an evolutionary board). The longboard is heavy, difficult to manoeuvre and complicated to row.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR LONGBOARDING?
Catch the waves before anyone else of course and enjoy long moments on the wave with a very aesthetic board in small conditions that often don’t allow you to have fun with a shortboard (see the fish for more nervous surfing in small waves).
HOW TO LONGBOARD
This type of surfing, which is more about gliding than radical manoeuvres, requires the surfer to continually adapt their position. When he feels his speed slowing in relation to the wave, he must walk towards the front of his board to increase its speed and vice versa.
This board also has its own signature tricks, such as the timeless Noseriding (a trick that involves walking on the board and positioning yourself on its nose with your toes on the edge).
In short, this is a great board for great sessions.
